Nuts & Bolts Education Seminar

Canton Chamber of Commerce presented a seminar on tax and legal issues for small businesses: Business Nuts & Bolts – Do it Right so you Don’t Get Caught.

NB-PartiicipantsThe seminar was held on Tuesday, February 27th, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM in Room E of the Canton Community Center at 40 Dyer Avenue, Canton, CT. Presenters Kristin Roberts and Attorney Maria Hampton did a panel presentation for 40-60 minutes each followed by a question and answer session. Maria and Kristin presented the legal and tax implications of various types of business models: Sole Proprietorship, Limited Liability Corporations (LLC), S Corporations, etc. The participants listened with rapt interest as the information was presented and then followed by lots of questions and follow-up from both Kristin and Maria.

The Canton Chamber Education Committee offers a series of quarterly business forums for Chamber members and local business owners. No cost for preregistered attendees. Walk-ins are charged $5.

Attorney Maria L. Hampton graduated Smith College and Western New England University School of Law. Attorney Hampton has been engaged in the general practice of law in Canton for almost 30 years.  She has lived in Collinsville since 1991 with my husband and 3 children.  Her law partner, Michael Amrein, does the bulk of their residential real estate and Maria does just about everything else – the organization of small businesses, landlord/ tenant issues, commercial real estate; family law, estate and probate. The practice thrives on catering to a repeat client base and flexible and immediate assistance to our clients.
